New house located on beachfront property in Sapphire Beach, NSW. Designed to optimise passive solar design and natural ventilation and to withstand the rigours of the harsh marine environment. Design also has a strong focus on indoor air quality through mould prevention strategies and use of low VOC building materials. Rectangular plan layout, pared back industrial aesthetic and product specifications are employed to minimise construction costs.
Masonry walls, steel roof sheeting, timber and fibre cement cladding, polished concrete flooring.
Minimal heating and cooling required, solar hot water system, PV panels, underground water tanks, water wise landscaping.
